This is the principal Barolo of the estate, at least in terms of quantity produced. Stylistically, the wine is an honest and pure reflection of the terroir of this small but important cru. The Barolos of Serralunga are known for their generosity and warmth and the “Rupestris” is as fine an example as one can find.

The 2012 Barolo Barolo Rupestris is super-refined and nuanced. Expressive floral notes and bright, red-toned fruit lift from the glass in this very pretty, elegant Rupestris. Silky tannins add to the wine's considerable appeal. In most vintages, Rupestris is a bigger wine, but the 2012 is especially elegant. The 2012 captures the essence of what makes Barolo such a compelling wine - above all else, power without excess weight. Stated simply, the 2012 is a total knockout.

Often referred to as the king of red grapes, Nebbiolo is responsible for some of the greatest wines in the world. The regions of Barbaresco and Barolo, in Piedmont, Italy, create the most revered expressions of the variety and have set the benchmarks for the world over. Nebbiolo is quite light in colour, dry and delicate but packs a punch in aroma and flavour with notes of rose, tar, cherry, red berries, blood orange, licorice, leather, terracotta and earthy herbals. These wines have high acidity and high tannins, making them extremely age worthy that deepen in complexity over decades. Simply stunning wines!
