About the wine

Tasting notes

Ppaque plum/ruby/purple color and terrific notes of creme de cassis, licorice, roasted herbs and smoky barbecue. It is a brilliant effort, with full body, wonderful fruit, a savory, expansive mouthfeel, sensational texture and a long finish, but no hardness or astringency. This is a fabulous Talbot to drink over the next 20-25 years.

The Grape

Bordeaux Blend

Bordeaux Blends are made up of a combination of traditional grapes found in the region of Bordeaux. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are the dominant varieties used in these blends, but you'll also find Petit Verdot, Malbec, Carménère and other supporting grapes. The firm, structured and tannic Left Bank Bordeaux reds are typically Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, whereas the more juicy, lush and approachable Right Bank Bordeaux reds have Merlot as their primary grape. These wines are some of the world's greatest expressions and have been made to last decades!
