About the wine

Tasting notes

The Peccavi Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is made up of 95% Cabernet from our two Bordeaux Clones and 5% from our own Petit Verdot, the varieties were vinified and matured separately in 225 L French oak barriques (around 45% new) for 14 months, before bottling. On the nose comes a depth of aromas, summer fruits with cassis at the forefront, some rum and raisin and maybe a hint of chocolate. Behind this are fine layers of lifted flowers, nuances of a musk perfume that smells deep and rich.Structurally this is a powerful wine with an incredibly smooth texture and a wonderful mouthfeel that affirms the fine velvet tannins. The wine finishes with a great length and will be enjoyed for years to come.

The Grape

Cabernet Sauvignon

A red grape variety that is responsible for the most expensive wines on the planet...some fetching over $100, 000 per bottle!!! It is also the worlds most popular style of wine and produces age worthy and concentrated expressions that show notes of potpourri, cassis, black cherry, blackberry, mulberry, raspberry, leafy herbals, green pepper, baking spices, charcoal, graphite and cedar. Most famous for the first growth wines from the Left Bank in Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon is often used as a primary variety for red blends designed to last decades and is a must have style for any serious collector.
