About the wine

Tasting notes

A savoury nose of smoked meat, charcoal, tapenade, cigars and truffles with a core of black currants, black cherries and wild blueberries and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied, very firm and yet wonderfully plush with a powerful core of fruit, earth and minerality. An iron fist in a velvet glove.

The Grape

Bordeaux Blend

Bordeaux Blends are made up of a combination of traditional grapes found in the region of Bordeaux. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are the dominant varieties used in these blends, but you'll also find Petit Verdot, Malbec, Carménère and other supporting grapes. The firm, structured and tannic Left Bank Bordeaux reds are typically Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, whereas the more juicy, lush and approachable Right Bank Bordeaux reds have Merlot as their primary grape. These wines are some of the world's greatest expressions and have been made to last decades!
