The Maurice O’Shea Shiraz is the flagship red wine for Mount Pleasant and is a blend of the best fruit available, only made in the greatest years. Taken from the Old Hill, Old Paddock, Rosehill 1946 and 1965 Vines, it is truly a complex and unique wine, exhibiting an almost euphoric sense. Fermented at 18-25 ˚C for approximately 9 days. Gently pressed to less than 20% large new format French oak barrels for almost 14 months maturation, before blending and bottling.

Shiraz, or Syrah, is one of the most loved, rich and powerful red wine varieties made famous for its mineral and structured expressions from the Rhône in France and the rich and decadent fruity expressions from the Barossa Valley in Australia. Full bodied, rich in antioxidants and generously fruity, Shiraz sits proudly on the table for those that like their wine big and bold. Think violets, blackberries, plum, chocolate, pepper, black olive, liquorice, rosemary, tobacco and spice...i'm thirsty already!
